Pet Parenting Woopsies

Yesterday, I told my boys I’m going to vacuum. Usually when I vacuum my room, I put Kiara, my little grey kitty, in her cage, and take her litter box outside.

So when I told my little boy I will vacuum, he put her litter box outside so I could do my thing.

I never got around to vacuuming, and hardly was in my room.

Fast forward to this morning, and my cat was meowing so loud, it was annoying. Usually i don’t mind her meows, in fact, I think they are adorable. But today she was yelling at me, and my sister. I chased her into my room and closed the door, thinking she’d calm down. But no she meowed louder.

My older son, who was the only one sleeping in there, woke up and followed her to where she was trying to lead him. She sat by the sliding glass door and kept meowing. My son then realized our mistake, and ran to tell me. that litter box was outside for almost 24 hours!!!!! I was in shock!!!

But honestly that wasn’t the first time I have done something like that.

Just last week I did the same thing, where I left the litter box outside, although she didn’t give us that much grief. I guess she didn’t have to go too badly. Lol I also left my cat Yva in her cage for more than 24 hours. She was being very aggressive towards Kiara, so i had one of the boys put her in her cage before they went to school. She was stuck in that cage all that day.

I had left to spend time with a friend and I stayed there all day. I came home, locked my door, and ran right into bed.

The next morning, when I walked by the cage to open my windows, she uttered this weak meow.

That’s when I realized my woopsy. I felt so awful.

Another woopsy was when I accidentally locked my cat in the extra room we had. I closed that door because she made a lot of noise in that room at night, and that woke me up. I was tired of it, so when I thought she was in another room I ran to close the door. The next morning, i heard scratching and meowing. That’s when I realized what I had done.

When I opened the door, I found the accident she made. I cleaned up the mess, and never closed that door again. I wasn’t mad at her, I just felt bad for leaving her in there.

I’m sure there are plenty of other pet parenting woopsies I made. I’ve forgotten to feed my cats, and only realized that mistake when they wouldn’t leave me alone at night. I stumbled to the kitchen only to see that I really have not put food in their bowls. I have forgotten to clean their boxes, so of course I only realized that when I found presents in my room.

I’m pretty sure they pooped right by where i sleep, to make a statement. When I found them, I’m pretty sure they said “Yep, stupid human. I did that just for your benefit. Now be a good slave, and scoop my poop before I leave you a present on your pillow.”
