I ordered a Mandalorian’s The Child and payed about 60 dollars.
What is the Mandalorian? The Mandalorian, also known as Star Wars: The Mandalorian, is an American space Western web television series created by Jon Favreau and released on Disney+. It is the first live action series in the Star Wars franchise. Set five years after the events of Return of the Jedi and 25 years prior to the events of The Force Awakens, it follows the title character, the Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin, and his exploits beyond the reaches of the New Republic.
Am I ashamed? A little. I usually tell my fam “Hey, I got this, that, and the third.”
But this time is different. This is a star wars stuffed animal from Build-a-bear!!!!!! Ok I got the guilt off my chest, hopefully.
Now it’s time to squeal in delight, jumping up and down, and making my kids question their mother.
Hahaha Let me just say I was not going to watch The Mandalorian. I have a weird bias against new shows from Disney, who now owns Star Wars. So when I got Disney+ in November like the rest of the Disney fanatics, and heard that a new show was there, I said “Nope…” Truth is, Disney also owns Fox network, National Geographic, and Marvel! I’m also a huge fan of Marvel, so I win there too.
I went about my business while my sons watched this Mandalorian… determined to tune the thing out. I think I even had a friend on the phone. All I heard was fighting anyway, so I truly thought “This isn’t a show I want any part of.” Yep, same woman who loyally watches all the avengers movies.
But something caught my attention. At the end of the second episode of the Mandalorian, My older son gasped, “Awwwwwww, a baby Yoda!!!!!!” “What????????” I exclaimed. Oh dear, why am I even getting excited? I am not interested. Right? I pushed the thought of Baby Yoda away.
The episodes were released every week, and my boys were loyal viewers. The next episode came, but I was not in the apartment. When I came back, my older son told me the Mandalorian saved the baby. “Saved him?” I asked, “From what?” He did explain, but honestly I was busy cleaning, and getting ready to make dinner. I don’t really remember what he said (SHHH, DON’T SAY ANYTHING TO HIM).
Ok next episode. I was sitting on one of my kitchen chairs, playing my dice games. But this episode in particular was different. There was fighting, but less fighting I guess. Well maybe not. I could hear Baby Yoda, OMG he sounded so cute!!!!!! I sat there and watched the whole episode. I knew I’d have to start from the beginning if I wanted to get some insight, so a few days later, I curled up in bed and watched all the episodes I missed.
Baby Yoda was a bounty for this Mandalorian. He was bringing him back to someone we already know is not nice. In the third episode, when the doctor takes the baby into another room, Baby Yoda makes a scared sound and looks to the Mandalorian in terror. I actually cried. I couldn’t believe he was just going to leave this poor baby there, knowing this particular client is no good. Then, after a few minutes, I remembered my son telling me “He saved Baby Yoda!” Needless to say Baby Yoda is just fine, and you will have to watch the show to get all the details. I feel I’ve spoiled it enough.
Where was I going with this? I had a point. Oh, yeah, my expensive friend. He has five baby sounds and the Mandalorian theme song in his hands. I don’t know a lot more. All I know is, I am surprised I was able to grab one online, and I will have a new stuffed friend to hug. Don’t judge me…
